Trauma and loss can have adverse effects on our lives.
When we hold on to loss and get immersed in the feelings for a long time, the emotions can heavily weigh down on us and our livelihood.
At a very tender age, I experienced immense loss and lost three close people in quick succession. I wasn't prepared for such a traumatic turn of events.
It started when I lost my dad. I was 11, and it was one of the hardest periods of my life. Strangely, it also seemed to open a door for more deaths. Within a short period, my friend and then a cousin also passed away. The trauma was too great to bear, and the ensuing emotional distress was life-changing.
Furthermore, my mother was also very sick. She had been battling with medical issues ever since I was a kid, and I had lived in constant fear of losing her.
I felt like I was in this box where I couldn't breathe. My teenage life was filled with depression and suicidal thoughts. I didn't know how to deal with the feelings, and all I wanted was to find an escape.
Ironically, despite what I was going through, I managed to stay strong for my mother's sake. She needed me, and I had to take care of her.
New Beginnings
It was when I reached 18 years old that I found a beacon of hope. A close friend helped me audit and consider my feelings, mental and emotional state, and well-being. This practice helped me open up my awareness to the pain I had buried.
This process was instrumental in getting my life back on track, as I was able to start clearing the negative thoughts. I also started being more optimistic about the opportunities life presented. It was time for financial independence. Finding a job that I would love was my next move, and I was so ambitious that I quickly worked my way up to management positions.
The peace and calm I was experiencing lasted until 2017 when my mother was once again admitted, and the doctors said she didn't have much time. By the following year, I had to pause everything to take care of her. Her situation had worsened.
Fear, anxiety, and worry once again crept back into my life. However, this time, meditation helped me cope. It provided me with calm during a tumultuous period. And it was during a night of meditation that an encounter changed my life.
I experienced a satori moment, and in the preceding six months, I would be flooded with information flooding into my mind. Many nights, I would wake up to write the words and phrases in my mind.
The information was valuable, and it gave me a deeper understanding of life and how I relate with those around me. After studying what I had written, I started sharing it and guiding my family and friends and witnessed the impact it had on their lives.
Furthermore, the expanded awareness helped me cope after losing my mom in 2021. After the grieving period, my emotional recovery was quicker thanks to my new understanding of life and realizing that I had no control over other people's lives. I could only control my mind to the level in which I was aware of the thoughts.
Guiding Others to Better Living
Once I realized the impact my new awareness had on me and those around me, I embarked on my new mission — helping more people. I created the Intuitive Ascending Mind workbook to guide them to get a deeper understanding of themselves and life.
This is a helpful tool that helps open up one's awareness to be able to rewrite the beliefs and mental programs that block us from achieving our full potential.
Later on, I started Sublime Knowledge, the company where we provide mindset coaching for love, health, and wealth. We help more people focus on what's important to them and realize the areas they need to adjust to be more aligned with their goals.
I realize that everyone has their life's purpose and path. But with guidance on goal achievement and how they can overcome the stumbling blocks on their way, more can take advantage of the chance to be successful and realize their maximum potential.
I am also a co-author with Brian Tracy and other business experts in the book "Succeeding in Business in Any Market" — a guide to budding entrepreneurs to learn, grow, and expand their potential in their industry. It all starts with how we think.
